Opportunities to Improve the Efficiency and Effectiveness of Records Management Processes in the City of Rochester
For the City of Rochester NY, CGR identified opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of records management processes. In 2005, CGR reviewed the flow of electronic and paper records between departments and the city’s Information Systems and Record Archives Center, and specifically targeted three departments – police, code enforcement, and environmental services – for detailed analysis. The report includes a description of technology solutions, major cost expenditures and related savings. The city subsequently acted on key recommendations in the report, and in 2007 received a $102,000 state records grant to build on CGR recommendations related to code enforcement.
