Village of Medina Dissolution Study - Baseline Description of Services, Options for Dissolution, Fiscal Impact and Dissolution Plan
In 2013, officials in the western New York Village of Medina launched an effort to analyze the potential efficiency of dissolving the Village of Medina. The study considered the impacts of dissolving the village government while maintaining appropriate levels of service for municipal services including the Police Department. Cost savings and changes to operational structures were modeled for the public to consider relating to the impact of dissolution. The Village Board has chosen not to act on the study committee’s proposal to dissolve. A petition drive led to a vote scheduled in January, 2015 that led to the voters choosing not to dissolve.
